just like our food, we've taken great care in picking our wine and making sure it matches the food. it's a small list but perfectly formed..... our whites katharine hills viognier (south australia) this hits the spot. smooth and buttery, it's a great allrounder. oh, and far too easy to drink! fortant chardonnay (france) a classic chardonnay. not too woody and hence very accessible botter pinot grigio (italy) try this and you'll see why pinot has become the grape of choice for the ABC group. it's light and refreshing, and for those interested in geography comes from near venice. jibe sauvignon blanc, marlborough (new zealand) our fave. all that's right about great new world wines is here. clean, fruity and perfect with fish
katharine hills shiraz (south australia) we didn't pick this because it matched our house white - but because it is brilliant. it is comfortably better than many other far more expensive reds. if you can't afford the Musar - then go for this fortant cabernet sauvignon (france)
chateau musar 1998 (lebanon) the daddy. don't be put off by the fact it is lebanese - this cult wine was made by master french oenologists (wine makers to you and me) and is for sale in a couple of edinburgh's michelin starred restaurants for over £50 per bottle. call us a couple of hours before you come to eat and we'll decant it and breathe it for you. then you'll see why this fabulous wine is the perfect match for our aged ribeye. our pink willowood white zinfandel (california) the "long lunch" special. a proper quaffing wine, and one not ashamed to be drunk with ice! our bubbly i can't believe it's not champagne. really. this makes the perfect aperitif, and is great with smoked salmon. or for celebrating. or just for enjoying!
